About Nyack Exchange

Nyack Exchange was founded by Amanda Wilson, a seasoned photographer, and Scott Ruta, an experienced physical therapist, with a shared vision: to create products that help people live better. Our first product, a unique camera strap called THE STANCE, was born out of Amanda's personal experience and embodies our commitment to merging comfort, health, and an active lifestyle.   

Amanda's Story

With a background in ad marketing and web design, Amanda has been a photographer and business owner for over 18 years. She currently works as the Creative Director for a women's publication in Montana. As a photographer, she spent 8-12 hours a day carrying a camera with a large lens, which led to neck and back issues as well as chronic migraines. She sought help from Scott, who identified the cause of her pain and developed specific exercises and strategies to improve her headaches.   

Scott's Expertise

Scott, a physical therapist with over 25 years of experience, has specialized training in treating migraines that stem from the neck. He owns a thriving rehab facility in Whitefish, Montana. Scott's holistic approach to patient care inspired him to look beyond traditional treatments and consider how everyday objects and habits could be optimized for better health.   

The Camera Strap By Nyack Exchange

Together, Amanda and Scott decided to develop a specialized camera strap to take the weight off her neck and relieve her symptoms. The STANCE camera strap is designed to bring the user into a more upright posture, which helps to alleviate neck and back pain.
